Loaded fries aren’t quite the same as this dish, but they were certainly inspired by it. Created in Canada, specifically Quebec in the 1950s, Poutine is fries drenched in gravy and cheese curds. It’s absolutely delicious, and has spawned many variations with loaded fries.
